Juicy Yogurt Marinated Chicken
This simple recipe for Juicy Yogurt Marinated Chicken packs a punch with aromatic spices and tangy Greek yogurt, ensuring each bite is packed with taste. Fire up the grill and let this juicy chicken be the star of your dinner routine!

As a busy home cook who’s always looking for easy weeknight meals, I’ve made it my mission to have a handful of truly flavor-packed chicken recipes in my back pocket. Chicken, especially boneless, skinless chicken breasts, gets a bad rap for being boring or dry. But honestly? It’s usually not the chicken. It’s how we’re cooking it.
The difference between “fine” and “wow, this is so good” is almost always the marinade. That’s where the flavor lives. That’s what keeps it juicy. That’s what turns a basic chicken breast into something you actually want to eat again tomorrow.

With this yogurt marinated chicken, the possibilities are endless. Layer it into wraps with crisp greens and a big spoonful of tzatziki. Dice it over a bright, crunchy salad. Serve it alongside my One Pot Turmeric Cabbage and Potatoes, or keep it simple with a fluffy baked russet potato with crispy skin.
However you serve it, this is the kind of chicken that makes the whole meal feel pulled together, without making your weeknight harder.
Key Ingredients

- Whole Milk Greek Yogurt – make sure it’s whole milk.
- Lemon Juice & Zest – yes to both.
How To Make Yogurt Marinated Chicken Breast

Recipe Tips
- While 2 hours of marinating is good, if time allows, aim for the full 8 hours. It makes a difference.
- If your Greek yogurt is too thick, you can thin it slightly with a splash of milk or water for a smoother marinade.

Serving Suggestions
- Wraps & Pitas: Slice it up and tuck it into a warm pita or wrap with whatever veggies you’ve got in the fridge. Add a big spoonful of tzatziki and call it dinner.
- Salads: Throw it over a bowl of greens with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, olives – whatever sounds good, and drizzle with a simple lemony vinaigrette. Easy, fresh, done.
- Rice Bowls: Pile it onto fluffy basmati or jasmine rice, add some roasted or grilled veggies, and finish with a dollop of yogurt. It’s the kind of bowl you’ll want on repeat.
- Pasta: Chop it up and toss it with pasta, sun-dried tomatoes, and a light lemon-herb situation. Feels a little fancy, but it’s still weeknight simple.
- Sandwiches: Layer it onto crusty bread with lettuce, tomato, and a swipe of garlic aioli.
Storing & Freezing
Storing: After grilling, allow the chicken to cool. Place the chicken pieces in an airtight container or wrap them in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Freezing: Lay the chicken pieces out individually on a baking sheet, ensuring they’re not touching, and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer the chicken pieces to a freezer-safe bag, squeezing out as much air as possible before sealing. Properly stored, the chicken can be kept in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. When ready to consume, thaw the chicken in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.

This chicken is great on its own. I also usually make extra and add it to a mediterranean salad. I even got, “This is good chicken” from my granddaughter! This is one of my repeat recipes from Laney.
